Six rescued near Pearly Beach

Johannesburg - Six people were rescued after a ski boat capsized about 150m off Quoin Point near Pearly Beach in the Overberg on Monday, the National Sea Rescue Institute said.

The boat was crewed by four fishermen. Two friends of the fishermen swam out to try and help the four after their boat capsized.

"All six people were static line-hoisted to shore," NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon said.

"They were taken two at the time. All six are safe and requiring no medical assistance."

The boat later washed up on shore.
