Diesel tanker overturns on N11
Durban - A diesel tanker overturned on the N11 near Newcastle on Monday morning, causing the highway to be closed to traffic at Majuba pass, KwaZulu-Natal traffic police said.
Spokesperson Colin Govender said it was not yet known how the accident happened as the driver was being treated at the Newcastle hospital for minor injuries.
"We will only know once we have spoken to the driver."
He said traffic police have since diverted traffic to the Memel and Volksrust roads in the area.
The patch of road will only be open to traffic once it has been cleaned up.
He said the road had been closed all morning and would probably be opened in the afternoon.
