New car mag for women
South Africa's biggest female-dedicated car supplement is now available with the July issues of Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Femina and O, The Oprah Magazine.
The 'Women on Wheels' (WOW) supplement, made possible by Nedbank Vehicle and Asset Finance, is now in its third year of existence. The 90-page supplement is packed with the latest car news, reviews and everything else a woman needs to know about cars.
The circulation of WOW makes it the biggest car-focused supplement in the women's-magazine market in South Africa, with a combined readership of 1,6 million readers (AMPS 2005).
"WOW is one of Associated Magazines' most successful supplements as it offers our readers the latest, up to date information about cars in an exciting, accessible way," says Julia Raphaely, Business Director of Associated Magazines.
"It also gives the motoring industry a unique opportunity to reach women, who are key decision makers when it comes to buying cars for themselves and their men.
"The supplement stems from our value-added editorial approach to all our titles, as this is the ultimate car guide for women, packaged with one of their favourite magazines.
It is written by top women motoring journalists and looks at cars from the point of view of a woman's needs. Our title sponsor, Nedbank Vehicle and Asset Finance, also supports this project because of the great response from our readers, making it 100 percent measurable and a very effective medium for them to use."
WOW features articles on best-buy options for under R80 000 to executives' dream machines and a run-down on the coolest cars for women, as chosen by top women motoring journalists. It also features articles on car safety and advice on what to do in case of a breakdown, blow-out or hijacking.
SABC 3 Car Torque's Clint Weston also gives his advice on how to handle tough driving conditions. He will be taking O Magazine's beauty editor, Zanele Kumalo, for some lessons. Don't miss the insert on Car Torque on SABC 3 on Sunday 2 July at 5pm.
WOW is available now in the July issues of Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Femina and O, the Oprah Magazine.
